TOPIC: The BIG Journey: From Scotland to Kent County
Henry Van Haren will discuss the Scottish experience of immigration to Ontario, mainly the 15 Scottish families who immigrated to the Baldoon Settlement and their impact on local history.
Bio: Henry Van Haren, Raised in Blenheim, moved to Wallaceburg in 1980. Became involved with the Wallaceburg Historical Society in 2017 and became president in 2021. Created a database to list all of the interments in Wallaceburg Cemetery. Working on digitizing the newspaper microfiche collection at Wallaceburg Library. Interested in old buildings and local history.
