DNA Basics Workshop

Wondering whether to take a DNA test or how DNA can help your family history research? The Kent Branch of The Ontario Genealogical Society will host an introductory workshop to explore the types of DNA tests available (Autosomal, Y DNA and Mitochondrial DNA), what they can tell you, the testing companies, how to interpret your results and how to use DNA testing to further your genealogy research. We will discuss how to use shared matches and targeted testing to develop testing strategies to support your family research and potentially, break down brick walls. Bring your curiosity and questions as you add DNA to your genealogy toolbox.
